How do I search for a suitable holiday rental property?

If you know the country or area where you want to go:

• Click on 'Property Search' at the top of the home page
• Use the search box at the top of the page
• Select from the 'region menu' you wish to travel to, the region menu will change displaying the sub regions for that area
• You can enter your arrival date and departure date or search by maximum price per week, plus any other search criteria you wish
• Use the advanced search box to search using more search criteria, please note the more search criteria you use in your search will return less, but more accurate holiday rentals you want
• Or click on the map areas to reveal more detailed areas and click on the area links

Searching for holiday rentals with facilities or activities:

• Click on 'Property Search' at the top of the home page or 'Quick Search' in the side menu then click 'Go to advanced search' to select the advanced search box
• or click on 'Go to advanced search' in the side menu
• Tick relevant boxes in the 'Advanced Search' box and click search

Searching for a holiday rental type:

• Use the 'Popular holiday rental searches' box for popular searches
• Or use 'Holiday rentals on the Spanish Costas' to search for rentals on the beach

How do I contact the owner or agent of the holiday rental I am interested in?

We recommend contacting the owner or agent for a property using the email enquiry form at the bottom of every property advert page, click the 'Send an enquiry' link to display the form. This will forward your message directly to the person responsible for this property. Please be sure to check your contact details that you enter to ensure that the owner can get back to you without any problems. If you do not hear back from the owner within a day or so it may be worth also trying to contact them by telephone if these details are given.

When filling out the enquiry form, make sure you enter the following:

• Enquiry description - enter any questions or request information you wish to know
• Your first and last name
• Your email address (please check this is correct)
• Telephone number (this is optional, however we would recommend that you do include it in case the owner has problems contacting you by email.)
• Arrival and departure dates
• The number of people traveling in your party and how many children
• Remember to click 'Send enquiry' or your enquiry will not be sent

How do I create a 'My Shortlist' of the holiday rentals which I like?

Costa-holiday-rentals.com has a sophisticated but easy to use 'My Shortlist' function. This allows you to save your favorite properties, which you can come back to at a later stage. You can add properties to your shortlist from any of the search results. You need to login to the 'My Shortlist' section before you can add properties.

Access your shortlist from the 'My shortlist' tab at the top of every page. You can then make a list and compare properties easily and also add and remove properties if you wish.

To create a shortlist account, all you need to do is click on the 'My Shortlist' button at the top of every page, enter your login email and choose a password and submit the form. If you want to be able to access your shortlist next time you visit the site, you just click on shortlist and enter your email address and password. Don’t worry if you have forgotten your password, just click on the link next to forgotten your login email and/or password and we will email it to you.

How do I search for a property by its reference number?

• If you know the property reference number, you can go directly to that advert by entering the number in the 'Property No:' reference box at the top right of the home page.

How do I search for a holiday rental by price or availability?

• Click on the 'Property Search' button at the top of the page and enter the maximum price you are willing to pay per week and select the currency
• If you wish to search by availability then enter the arrival and departure dates, this will search the availability calendars for each property to see if it available

How do I search for a holiday rental by location?

• In the search box select the region menu and choose a destination, the region menu will change displaying additional sub regions
• Click on the area links, the next page will display more detailed areas if available or use the map to navigate through areas

How do I know the information on the advert is accurate and up to date?

It is the responsibility of the owners to maintain the currency and accuracy of the information displayed on their advert is correct. We do not take responsibility for any inaccuracies and urge all visitors to undertake their own confirmations that the holiday rental is as stated before committing to a booking.

Who is my booking with?

Your booking is with the owner/advertiser of the holiday rental and not with Costa-holiday-rentals.com.

Our website is only an advertising tool bringing together holiday rental owner and holidaymaker's who are looking for a property to rent for the duration of their holiday or even long term let. Costa-holiday-rentals.com does not inspect any of the properties or get involved with the bookings and therefore can not give you any guarantees when booking with an advertiser. We recommend that you speak to the owner by telephone and ask them any questions or request prior to booking and also request written confirmation by post.

How do I book or pay for my holiday rental and whom do I make payment to?

All dealings regarding a property booking are made between the client and the holiday rental owner. Costa-holiday-rentals.com provides an advertising service only and does not take any part in the booking. You may wish to speak to your bank as regards any concerns in transferring money and they may be able to help with any payment protection or insurance.

Where do I book my travel arrangements?

You as the client who is booking the holiday rental with the advertiser must arrange all of your own transport necassary for your holiday. It is up to yourself to arrange flights, ferries, trains etc. The advertiser may be able to offer you some advice in travel arrangements such as low cost airlines which fly to their nearest airport.

Will I be insured by Costa-holiday-rentals.com?

No, the booking is between yourself and the holiday rental owner or agent. Costa-holiday-rentals.com does not offer any insurance or guarantees with regards to your booking. We do recommend that you take out appropriate insurance by a third party Insurance company to cover yourself.

Register your personal details to create an account

Costa-holiday-rentals.com is quick and easy to use. Just click the ‘Advertisers’ button at the top of the home page and this will take you to the advertisers section. Under the new advertisers click 'Register Now' and fill in your personal details and choose your login email address and password to access your control panel. Within your control panel you have complete control to add, edit and manage your holiday rental advert portfolio online.

Create your new advertisement and enter the property details

When you login to your control panel click 'Create new advertisement' to create a new advert for a holiday rental. The very first holiday rental advert is know as the 'Primary Unit' and costs €83 (not including IVA). Any additional holiday rental adverts created after this are know as 'Secondary Units' and are charged at less than half price each at only €40 (not including IVA) each. When you create a new advertisement just follow the on screen instructions and fill in as much information about your holiday rental as you can. If you can't fill in or are not sure about some of the information on the screens then don't worry you can save the page and come back and fill in more details at a later stage.

In your control panel you can change property details, enter the location, upload pictures, enter rental rates, update your availability calendar, add a special offer, enter contact details (if you want them to be different from your personal details) and place a payment order. As you build your advert you can preview your advert on every page by clicking 'Preview advertisement' at the top of each page.

Select the location details for your holiday rental

Go to the 'Location' section in your control panel and select from our geographical breakdown system the nearest place where your property is located. If you feel your location area is not listed then please email us at customer@costa-holiday-rentals.com and we will look into adding your location to our system. You can place the location on your 'Location Map' to indicate roughly where your holiday rental is located.

Upload pictures of your holiday rental

Go to the 'Pictures' section in your control panel and click on the 'Add a picture' links to upload a picture in that position. Enter the caption under the picture. You can upload up to 12 pictures for your advert of which the first 8 pictures are free and any additional pictures are charged for a small fee. You can change the order of the pictures and captions using the arrows provided just remember to click 'save pictures' button to save the changes, also, you may have to click the 'Refresh' button in your browser to see the changes.

Scanning of Photographs:
You can email your photographs to us at scan@costa-holiday-rentals.com quoting your customer number and property number. please note files should be saved in the following format if possible:- 72 dpi resolution, maximum 400 pixels width or height landscape or portrait, colour mode RGB save file format as JPG (GIF and PNG file formats are also excepted but JPG is the prefered file format for pictures).
Note: The Maximum size limit for a picture is 1MB. Landscape pictures are preferred to fit the design layout but portrait pictures are also accepted.

Enter the rental rates for your holiday rental

You can enter up to 12 different rental rates to cover the year. Simply select the start date and end date and the price and also the currency then click the 'save' button. Also enter any rental rates notes for information or details about the rental rates you have entered. Please note the 'save detail' button at the bottom of the screen only saves the notes information, you must click the 'save' button above to save any rental rates you have entered.

Update your availability calendar

Enter the start date and end date and whether your holiday rental is either available, unknown, booked or unavailable. Remember for your advert to be returned in the search results when a visitor is searching by availability your calendar needs to be up to date. When you create your advert update your calendar as soon as possible so as not to miss out on potential bookings. Also enter any availability notes such as change over days etc.

Create a last minute 'Special Offer' for your holiday rental

If you have had a cancellation, you can create a 'Special Offer' for your rental just fill in the details on the 'Special Offer' page and place your order. Special offers cost just €7 per week at a minimum of 2 weeks and are searchable in the 'Advanced search' box.

Enter the contact details for your holiday rental

If you would like different contact details to your personal details from your account, then you can enter different contact details such as names, a different email address and phone numbers in this section. If you have your own website then you can enter the website address here also. This will open your web page up in a new browser window and is free of charge.

Visit the payment section and place your order

When you have built your advert and you would like it to go live on the Costa-holiday-rental.com website go to the 'Payment Orders' section and click 'Place a new order'. Any products you have created whether its a new advert or extra pictures or even a special offer will be listed. Simply select which ones you wish to pay for and click continue. You can pay online with your credit or debit card using 'paypal'. You may also see a list of previous orders to see if they have been processed by us or are still pending.
